How do you know if the pipe or a stud? That’s what I am needing to know. I’m putting up a towel bar that solid stainless steel, but it doesn’t have that kind of connector ends on it. Mine is just three holes on each side of the thing where you just put like screws in and so I would have to use more than likely probably the plastic the big plastic screws that drill into the wall but my problem was and drilling the holes. The bit stopped at about almost a half inch in and would not go any farther. It’s almost like there’s metal behind whether it’s pipe or a solid plate and I don’t know so how would you know how to detect if it’s a pipe or if it’s wood because to me a drillbitregular one would go into the wood if it was wood if it was metal it more than likely wouldn’t and you’d have to use a metal drill but and I don’t want either of that I want just the drywall

Damn, brb gonna try my shovel. EDIT: Fucking hell that worked. I'm on a concrete slab but this is still easier than a prybar, if you jam the shovel in to the nails it snaps them off instead of levering them off and leaving big holes in the concrete.

Is it really necessary to take the old nails out with the old shingles? Particularly if a steel roof is to be installed?

Can't use Ferncos on those pipes. Supposed to use the metal shielded ones with the clamps.

Man, your video instruction is the best. I moved to West Africa from Chicago. I decided to build my house and wanted to install a pocket door on the master bathroom. So I watched a dozen of videos but yours is simple, clear, and the best. Now I can educate the carpenters here to produce and install my pocket door. Most carpenters here have no idea about making and installing Pocket Doors. Is it ok to use 2x4 metal studs that the door slides between and then add a 2x4 wood inside the studs to make them stronger and provide more meat to screw the drywalls on to? Those tiny metal studs that came with the track look flimsy to me. What do you advise? I have followed your channel since 2019. How to hang a door and How to frame a wall were the first 2 videos I watched on your channel and they are still among the best videos for learning and DIY projects. Thanks for doing these excellent videos.

Great video, thanks I’ve watched it a few times. I found the concrete drill bits worked for the type of stone tile we have. My problem is only three of the six holes took Tapcon screws and they are all located towards the back of the flange. There isn’t enough concrete or mortar in the anterior screw hole spaces. My thoughts are to find longer screws 3.5” as the 1/4” X 1 3/4” Tapcon didn’t hold. It’s also possible the stone tiles are too porous to hold the screws.

You bought the land and the cabin but the cabin isn’t on your land? That seems odd to me. Don’t you buy land and all improvements on that land? In other words, it seems reasonable to me that you didn’t even buy and don’t own the cabin! I hope it goes well for you - I will be tuned in for updates!
